This fall, The Turnaway Project, in collaboration with Advocates for Youth, launched a student-designed Back-to-School Campaign to ignite reproductive freedom activism on campuses nationwide. The campaign draws from groundbreaking research: The Turnaway Study by Dr. Diana Greene Foster that sought to answer the question what happens when someone is denied an abortion? The Study debunks harmful myths about abortion and shows that people seeking abortions make thoughtful, well-considered decisions.
By combining abortion storytelling with science-based facts, the campaign equipped young people to use their voices and their power to ensure everyone understands their reproductive rights.
What we did:- Facilitated an advisory group made up of 22 young people to garner input and insights to inform the campaign
- Created campaign vision, strategy and design in partnership with young people
- Led the development of all campaign assets and materials, including a campaign toolkit, in partnership with Women Unite!
- Managed all partnerships and collaborations, including social media influencers, needed to carry out the campaign
